SHARP
SHARP is a queer artist, activist and producer whose works stem from photography and an archive of imagery that dates back to the 80's, from this anchor point they have expanded into video, installation, performance and sculptural intervention as a means to occupy space. Their works originate from a vital urge to document their life, their butch identity and the spaces around them being domestic or out in the natural landscape in order to take over and illuminate the shadow left by section 28 and provide an inter-generational connection with repetitions in histories that continue to infringe on the liberties of LGBTQIA+ people.
SHARP has exhibited and performed nationally and internationally at Manchester Art Gallery, The Whitworth Gallery Manchester, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange, Deptford x London, VOID (Derry) and Gallery 78 (Reykjavik)
SHARP'S works are held in permanent collections such as University of Salford Art Collection and Cartwright Hall (Bradford).
