Erin Holly
Erin Holly is an artist based in London, with an MA in Fine Art from City and Guilds of London School of Art. Their work draws from lived experience, delving into the intricate layers of identity and inclusion, sexuality, embodiment, and evolving perceptions of spiritualism in contemporary contexts.
At the heart of their creative practice lies a spiritual and embodied process that invites introspection and centres on the concept of interiority. This approach aims to evoke dimensions of trans-spiritualism, probing spaces that often defy traditional categorisation.
Through a multidisciplinary lens that encompasses painting, writing, and dance, their work interrogates modernist frameworks of gender identity, revealing their limitations when viewed through the expansive perspective of transness.
Since completing an MA, they have exhibited work across London, the United States, and Europe. Notable projects include collaborations with The Koppel Project, a large-scale mural for Our Towns Basildon, NuArt Aberdeen and shown work at Volta Art Fair in Paris.
Their first solo exhibition gained international recognition in 2023 at PDP Gallery, followed by a second showcase in Pezenas, France. Most recently, their work was presented in a solo exhibition with JD Malat Gallery in London.
Their achievements include being shortlisted for the prestigious Ingram Art Prize and a feature alongside Chris Ingram in the Financial Times.
